Now Loading for the week of 3/14/2011: Viva La Resistance Edition

There are quite a few releases on tap this week across all platforms. Regardless of your personal tastes, you are sure to find something of interest this week. As for me, I will be fighting the good fight with Homefront.

Here are some of the highlights of this week’s releases:

3/15/2011
  • Liight for Nintendo WiiWare: A unique, award-winning, puzzle-solving game where you use colored lights and shadows to solve puzzles and make music. The game even includes a creation mode that allows you to create your own puzzles and share them with friends. Available for 500 Wii points.
  • Mix Superstar for Nintendo WiiWare: Create, mix and record your own royalty-free musical tracks using more than 1,000 Dance, Hip Hop and Techno loops included across multiple instruments like Drum, Bass, Synth, Guitar and even voice tracks. The full version will cost you 500 Wii points and a demo version is available.
  • Plants vs. Zombies for Nintendo DSiWare: Does this game even need an introduction? Popcap’s classic take on tower defense is now available through Nintendo’s digital service for 800 DSi points. 
  • Rabi Laby for Nintendo DSiWare: Rabi Laby requires teamwork, dedication and the love of a great adventure. . The labyrinth awaits you for 500 DSi points.
  • 5 in 1 Mahjong for Nintendo DSiWare: It’s Mahjong and sure to keep fans busy for hours on end... for 200 DSi points.

  • Dance on Broadway for PlayStation 3: Like it or not, Ubisoft has struck gold with their various dance games on the Wii. Now, they want to test the waters on the PS3 with a game based on Broadway numbers. This Move enabled game is sure to bring out your jazz hands...
  • Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Prologus for PlayStation Portable: The prequel to the PSP fighting title is here, bring with it the entire roster of the previous game and a slew of new ones.
  • Hard Corps- Uprising for PlayStation Network: Xbox 360 fans have had a couple of weeks to enjoy the newest not-Contra Contra title but now every will. Arc System Works take on the series is a homage to the Genesis Hard Corps title that was both criticized and heralded for its challenge.
  • Homefront for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3: According to THQ and Kaos, home is where the war is... and they aren’t kidding. The new FPS adventure puts you in the shoes of a foot soldier in the fight against the Korean Army which has occupied the US in the year 2027. I can’t say much, but let me just say that I HIGHLY recommend the multiplayer modes... highly. You can also expects Chuck review of the Xbox 360 version tomorrow.
  • Shogun 2: Total War for PC: Sega’s feudal war strategy series is back on the PC. The new title puts players in the aftermath of the Onin War and allows them to take control of one of many local warlords and clans prevalent at the time.
  • Slam Bolt Scrappers for PlayStation Network: Build... mash... destroy! Fire Hose’s insane mash up looks like a ton of multiplayer fun... maybe Ben will start sharing some details now that the game is being released.
  • Top Spin 4 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii: 2K’s latest trip to the tennis courts brings the most features and deepest player roster that the Top Spin series has seen to date. This edition also brings a new set of motion controls to the various platforms.
  • Warriors- Legends of Troy for PlayStation 3: The creators of the Dynasty Warriors franchise shifts the battle from ancient Asia to the Trojan War. 
  • Yakuza 4 for PlayStation 3: Sega’s infamous series is back, bringing PS3 players an adventure in the criminal underground of Japan. I haven’t tried the series yet, but this one is calling me...

  • FullHouse Poker for Xbox Live Arcade: The finale of this year’s Xbox Live House Party is here with a new style poker game.
