"No Country for Movie Games" over at Defunct Gamer

Games based on movies, movies based on games -- we've heard, seen, and played some of the harrowing results.  But what if this critically-doomed endeavor went in a new direction?  What if a game-made-from-a-movie bypassed the low-hanging fruit ... and made a game out of, say, an Academy Award winner?  Even if the mechanics were typical, would the end result be nevertheless improved because it was built upon richer source material?  In an article entitled "No Country for Movie Games," our sister site Defunct Games is looking forward to the Oscars this weekend and waxes academic over filmic rhetoric, examining what might come out of video game adaptations like There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, and Atonement
