Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur 5 kick off Major League Gaming Summer Season

Major League Gaming has announced their fighting game summer season will kick off on August 10th in New York City. The event will be streamed live for free on a standard definition broadcast and there will be an HD upgrade available as well. Not details yet but im assuming you will have to pay for the HD Upgrade. Players in competition have the opportunity to win $3,400 per game. 

Here is a list of the announced players 

Mortal Kombat - DetroitBalln, DJT1993, Perfect Legend, CDjr, Tyrant, Pig of the Hut, GGA 16Bit, and GGA Dizzy
Soul Calibur V - Keev_,  Kayane, LostProvidence, rtd_atl, Something-Unique, _Hawkeye, Linkrkc, and Kinetic_Clash

And... I have no idea who any of those people are

Finally the Summer Championships will take place August 24th - 26th in Raleigh, NC

 Major League Gaming Announces Fighting Games for the Summer Season

Major League Gaming (MLG) today announced that fighting games on the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) System will be featured on the MLG Pro Circuit during the Summer Season.


Summer Fighter Arena: August 10 in NYC

The Season will kick off with Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur V on the PS3 at the Summer Fighter Arena on Friday, August 10, a full day of action that will be streamed live. The standard definition broadcast will be free, and there will be an HD upgrade option. The Top 8 finishers in each game from the Spring Championship held last month will be invited to compete for $3,400 per game.

Mortal Kombat - DetroitBalln, DJT1993, Perfect Legend, CDjr, Tyrant, Pig of the Hut, GGA 16Bit, and GGA Dizzy

Soul Calibur V - Keev_,  Kayane, LostProvidence, rtd_atl, Something-Unique, _Hawkeye, Linkrkc, and Kinetic_Clash

Summer Championship: August 24-26 in Raleigh, NC

Both Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur V on the PS3 will also be featured at the Summer Championship from August 24-26 in Raleigh, NC. The Soul Calibur competition will take place from Friday, August 24 to Saturday, August 25. The Mortal Kombat competition will take place from Saturday, August 25 through Sunday, August 26.
