Look, I hate overpowered weapons as much as the next guy, but you know what I hate even more? It's terms like "OP," and "nerf." I loved Battlefield 3
's multiplayer, but I had to bow out when they "nerfed" the IR scope based on what I could tell was only snipers who couldn't snipe with impunity anymore, which is a good thing. Now word comes down via this dev tweet
that the FAMAS would be "nerfed" because with the fore grip attachment (that required the player to get dozens of kills first to unlock), it was too "OPed."
So there you go: "Balancing." Why don't they just replace all the real weapons with actual NERF guns* and be done with it?
Don't get me wrong, it's great the way DICE responds to its fans and I'm not really criticizing them, but something is overpowered to everyone (for me it was C4 and anti-tank mines), and I wish they'd leave things alone that aren't gamebreakingly overpowered (like C4 and anti-tank mines, HAR!).
*I would totally play that game. I love NERF guns.
