After a short delay the MechWarrior Online
beta will officially be available to everyone starting tomorrow. I like the game a bit more than Ben did
but then again I've got some skin in the game as I bought the Founders package a few months back. The delay seems to have been caused by some issues around lag but after spending some time with the game over the weekend I'm happy to report that the game is very playable and a ton of fun to play.
I will warn you that the game does take some time to appreciate as you've got to learn the controls and get used to the slower pace of the game. The game also doesn't really open up until you can buy and customize your own mechs which requires a bit of time or spending some money to buy the upgraded mechs (this is a free to play game after all) so if you get frustrated hang in there as it took me about ten matches before I started to get a feel for the game.
