First he took on the crew of the Starship Enterprise. He's going to a galaxy far far away for his next movie. But, don't be surprised if there's some Aperture Science or City 17 in J.J. Abrams' future.

Joystiq is reporting from DICE where Gabe Newell of Valve Software and J.J. Abrams had a little talk about working together to bring the two biggest IPs of Valve to the big screen. All they really talked about was seeing if they can work together to do this so this is nothing more than some small talk between friends, but it could lead to bigger and better things.

You guys might as well get the lens flares jokes out of the way early. Of course, Abrams could just produce and have someone else direct, which would be fine. Either way, we'll have a while before we know if this actually comes to fruition.
