If you are truly a hardcore Street Fighter fan, this is a must have and would look awesome on display in your office or game room. Hell, I want one but I don't have a spare $300 to drop on a conversation piece; if I did though...

To: "Charles Husemann" <chusemann@gamingnexus.com>

Hello Charles,

The 25th Anniversary celebration of Street Fighter continues, as Capcom recently shared new information surrounding the activities that will support this hyper-combo milestone. In addition to the limited edition Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set that will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 18th, Capcom is ready to kick off its high stakes global tournament series in Austin, TX this weekend on July 28-29.

Registration for the Austin, TX qualifying round is now open and is free to enter, but a refundable $20 registration fee is required in order to save a spot. This intense tournament series will culminate in a grand finals event held in San Francisco, CA on December 8th and will include players who qualify in the preliminary tournaments throughout the year. The tournament series will feature the following monumental titles from the past and present:  Street Fighter X Tekken, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. For everything related to the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary, including how to register for each tournament, go to: http://www.streetfighter25.com/

As a way of continually honoring and promoting the many different aspects of Street Fighter culture, Capcom has partnered with creative collective, iam8bit, to produce a special Street Fighter 25th Anniversary group art exhibition. The gallery features artwork from over 50 renowned artists from around the world, and the grand opening will be held in Los Angeles, CA on August 3rd from 7 to 11pm. Admission into the exhibit is free and all ages are welcome, and will be on display until August 19th. The opening extravaganza will also feature several one-night only installations, including a real-life "Bonus Round" that will literally transport attendees into the game. Also recently announced, the Capcom Store is now offering an exclusive, high-quality Street Fighter 25th Anniversary chess set that takes the iconic characters from the Street Fighter franchise and places them into an all-new type of battle. The individually-numbered chess sets are limited to 5000, and contain highly-detailed silver and pewter resin pieces that are stored in protective custom slots inside the wood case. A certificate of authenticity is included, and the entire set retails for $299.95 and will be available in August 2012.
