LOS ANGELES – May 10, 2005 – Cyberathlete® Professional League (CPL)’s Dallas‑based annual game tournament and LAN party will award $200,000 in cash prizes to top skilled gamers. The tournament will also be the last official opportunity in America to advance in the $1,000,000 CPL World Tour. In addition to the official videogame competitions, the event will feature endless unofficial tournaments and grudge matches for a wide spectrum of games. The event will take place Wednesday, July 6 through Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the new Gaylord Texan Resort, in Grapevine, Texas.

Thanks to its primary sponsor Intel and co-sponsor NVIDIA, the Dallas CPL competition boasts a huge bevy of cash prizes. More than $200,000 is at stake in the official competitions
for Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike (version 1.6), Day of Defeat, WarCraft III and Halo 2. The CPL World Tour competitors will play Painkiller (version 1.64) in a one‑versus-one
deathmatch format.
More than 6,500 gamers from nearly 60 countries have already registered for the challenge to compete. The massive event will sprawl more than 150,000 square feet of space at the
Gaylord Convention Center.
