Maybe EA will buy the license to the NBA so only they can make these. But I digress. Mad Catz is coming out with a line of controllers branded with your favorite NBA team. You can see some examples on the Mad Catz website.

Mad Catz Hits the Hardwood With New NBA Controllers!; Customized Controllers for all 30 NBA Teams to Feature Team Colors and Logos

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2005--Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. "Mad Catz" (AMEX/TSX: MCZ), the world's leading third party video game accessory provider, announced that it has signed a license agreement with the National Basketball Association to produce customized NBA team controllers for the PlayStation(R)2 and the Xbox(R) gaming systems.

Mad Catz will produce a unique and stylish video game controller for all 30 NBA teams, each featuring the team's colors and logos. The NBA licensed accessories, expected to be available in March 2005, will feature rubber grips, poly-carbonate finish, analog joysticks and an action d-pad.

"Basketball fans show support for their favorite NBA teams and players when they wear their jerseys to the game," said Darren Richardson, President and CEO of Mad Catz. "Now they can show the same pride when they play as those same teams and athletes at home."

"The new Mad Catz controller continues to capture the enthusiasm of basketball and videogame fans," said Greg Lassen, Senior Director of Electronic & Interactive Licensing, NBA. "With a controller for every NBA team, sports videogame fans can now play NBA videogames with their favorite team and matching controller."

This marks the second such announcement to date by Mad Catz; the company recently formed a similar partnership with the NFL.
