Ghostbusters on IGN has word they probably won't have co-op play in the campaign mode. They brought up a point about the story being a recruit joining the team but we've had games where they had more than one protagonist and it doesn't affect the story. As

Halo comes to mind as you wake up with another Master Chief by your side if you play co-op. Oh well, a good
Ghostbusters game without co-op is better than a bad one or none at all.
