Santa Monica, Calif. - (June 28, 2007) - GameTrailers (GT), the premier provider of video for gamers and a division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B) MTV Networks Entertainment Group, and Tecmo®, a leading publisher of video games for multiple platforms, announced today a partnership to create a behind-the-scenes bonus documentary DVD to be included in Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden® Sigma Collector's Edition Two-Disc set. Taking gamers behind-the-scenes during the final days of development, the GameTrailers documentary showcases exclusive video shot on location in Tokyo, including interviews with Ninja® Gaiden Sigma's creator and director. Available Tuesday, July 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system is the highly anticipated newest chapter in Tecmo's action-packed Ninja Gaiden series. "When we set out to create this documentary, we wanted to do something that had never been done before, and produce a piece that was more about the people making the game than the game itself," said Shane Satterfield, editor in chief, GameTrailers. "Now that the documentary is complete, we think viewers will appreciate this inside look at the human element behind game development and what it's like to live and work in Tokyo." "GameTrailers' expertise in creating high-quality video for gamers with an authentic editorial voice made them the obvious first choice when selecting a partner to create the bonus documentary for Ninja Gaiden Sigma's Collector's Edition," said Yoh Watanabe, Tecmo's Marketing Manager. "Our goal was to include something that would really enhance the Collector's Edition offering. We are thrilled with the end product and believe fans will be too." Filmed on location in Tokyo, GT's documentary focuses on the human story of the game's development team - Team NINJA. Included in the documentary are interviews with the game's director, Yosuke Hayashi and legendary video game creator, Tomonobu Itagaki. GT's cameras follow Itagaki as he hands over directorial duties for Ninja Gaiden Sigma to Hayashi. The documentary also touches on what it's like to be an American video game developer in Japan, the lifestyle and after-work activities of the enigmatic Team NINJA, and includes a secret hidden code to unlock bonus missions within the game. Ninja Gaiden, the commercial and critically acclaimed action game, took the action genre by storm with its unique and innovative game play, killer story and mind-blowing graphics. Now in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, gamers can also experience it from a whole new perspective by taking control of Rachel the Fiend Huter, an all-new playable character with a fighting style all her own. The game also includes a bevy of new content and missions, and enhanced graphics. In addition to GT's behind-the-scenes DVD, the Collector's Edition set includes special hi-res packaging and codes to unlock Ryu and Rachael mission modes, and is available exclusively at GameStop/EB Games for $69.99.
