GOG stays awesome with Broken Sword announcement

by: Chad -
You probably already knew that Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars is available on GOG.com for $5.99.  Customers that purchased the game were "only" treated with a remastered version; the original was not available - until this week!  GOG has added even more value to this classic game by including the untouched version that was released in 1996 (without raising the price).  Some might say this is the better version, but now we all can decide for ourselves.

Old dog, new owners.  Nice!

Original Broken Sword Coming Exclusively to GOG.com as Director’s Cut Bonus

Thanks to Industry Legend Charles Cecil and Revolution Software, the Original Version of the Acclaimed Adventure Game will be Available as an Exclusive Bonus to Gamers who Purchase GOG’s Broken Sword Director’s Cut

GOG.com is joining forces with Charles Cecil to bring the original version of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (a.k.a. The Circle of Blood) to the world’s greatest catalogue of digitally-distributed classic PC games. Players who purchase the high-resolution Broken Sword Director’s Cut will receive the acclaimed original as a free downloadable bonus. Anyone who has already purchased Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars Director’s Cut will receive the classic for free.

“Broken Sword is one of the best adventure games of all time,” said Guillaume Rambourg, Managing Director of GOG.com. “After releasing the Director’s Cut, many of our old-school gamers expressed an interest in bringing back the original Broken Sword, so with Charles Cecil’s approval, we have dusted off the original and added it to the Director’s Cut at no cost to our users. It just shows that no matter how much of a makeover you give a product, the classics will never go out of style!”

Broken Sword Director’s Cut with the original version of the game is exclusively available at http://gog.com for $5.99.
