Four new DLC packs coming to Red Dead Redemption; zombies are not forgotten

by: Tina -
Red Dead Redemption has so far seen one DLC package that introduced a slew of multiplayer options on the 360 and PS3 for a grand total of free dollars. Rockstar has just announced their plans for releasing four more add-on content, but you won’t be as lucky in terms of pricing.

On the bright side, the packages planned for release over the upcoming few months look hopeful with some enticing descriptions. The first pack to arrive, Legends and Killers that is quoted as releasing in the beginning of August, will be bringing new maps and playable characters from the game’s spiritual predecessor, Red Dead Revolver.

As exciting as that can possibly be, I’m more so looking forward to the new multiplayer mini-games like Liars and Cheats that focus on some of the more shining aspects of Red Dead (poker), or the Undead Nightmare pack that introduces the tried and true theme of zombies into its gameplay in the form of 8 new zombie characters. The Free Roam pack will have new challenges and areas to traverse, as well as gang hideouts to discover. Some of my most enjoyable moments in RDR were hogtying the target bandit and fleeing from the hideout while being chased by his goons.

While details are still fairly scant, you can read on for the bits of information that have been so far released (including the almost universal price-tag of $9.99 for each pack). Stay tuned for future information, and the hopes that the zombies in the Undead Nightmare pack aren’t as cheesy as I might expect them to be.
