For those about to pay $40 for AC/DC we salute you

More On: Rock Band
Beginning in November, AC/DC will be available as DLC in the AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack. All master recordings, the track pack will feature 18 tracks or over 99 minutes of game play. All the big hits are there and you'll be able to play it on either Rock Band 1 or Rock Band 2. The pricing is going to be pretty expensive though as it's almost expensive as a new game. For the 360, PS3, and Wii it will cost you $39.88 and for the PS2 it will be $29.88. Considering a brand new game is $49.99 and that comes with 80+ songs and a game, you can see how taken back I am they are going to price the 18 song pack for close to $40.

[EDIT: Dan] It never actually states that the AC/DC track pack will be DLC in the announcement (now attached), and a quick review of the RockBand official forums confirms that.  According to this article in the New York Times, the AC/DC track pack will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart, WalMart.com and Sam's Club as a retail expansion pack.  It looked like it was going to be bad enough to have exclusive titles and artists on GHWT and Rock Band, but now exclusive sales channels?  Criminy, I guess anything to secure that extra buck...
