First Metroid Prime Trilogy Trailer and Boxshots

More On: Metroid Prime Trilogy
In case you weren't already hyped for the August 24th release of the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition, here's the official trailer and some pics of the sexy metal tin it comes in.  All three games are included on one disc, with the Wii controls, snazzier graphics and achievement system from Prime 3 implemented into the first two.  The package includes an artbook too, which is nice considering Retro Studios has some of the best artists in the industry.

I'm very happy that Nintendo hasn't forgotten about the Metroid series. With this enhanced compilation hitting this summer, and Metroid Other M coming tentatively next year, it shows that they are serious about the property and that they understand who plays it: hardcore gamers. After finishing Prime 3 I expected them to shelve the series for another eight years or so, or worse, turn it into some cel-shaded party game. Prime Trilogy is one of the few reasons that after all these years and numerous disappointments, I'm still something of a Nintendo fan.
