Earth Defense Force 2017 coming to American Vitas

Earth Defense Force 2017 is one of those cherished unsung gems of the 360 library. The game is ooooold--it came out in America way back in 2007, and it originated in Japan even earlier in December 2006. Still it's built up a cult following and was recently ported to the PS Vita--in Japan. American EDF fans can stop their envious grumbling, however, because Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable is slated for a Winter 2013 release here in the states. To be honest I'd rather just play it on the 360--the Vita is still a shaky prospect with a battery life that is even more pathetic than the 3DS, so there's no way I'm buying one until we get at least one major hardware revision. But for early adopters of Sony's new handheld starved for some decent content, EDF Portable should hit the spot nicely.
