Electronic Arts has decided to end
their pursuit of Take Two Interactive after pursuing the company for nearly seven months. With sales of Grand Theft Auto IV failing
to live up to expectations and no major AAA titles on the horizon for Take Two the company decided to take it's ball and go home.
It will be interesting to see if EA decides to shelve M&A activity for a while to focus on their fall slate of titles or if they decide to look for another company to buy out (THQ and Ubisoft would be obvious targets). Take Two is also in an interesting position as they've managed to fend off a buy-out from the largest publisher in the market. I still think they are in a position to get purchased by someone but we'll see how it shakes out.
