Remember Mad World? The all black and white and red, over the top, gore fest for the Wii? I'm sure it rings a bell with you since it was one of the few mature rated games that ever came out for the system. Well, now it's getting a spiritual successor in the form of Anarchy Reigns.

In story mode you can either reprise your role as good old chainsaw-arm himself ,Jack and go around killing ninjas with some of your old Mad World friends or take the role of a new character named Leo who has laser blades in his arms and legs. The two characters have a history of some sort, but there wasn't too much shown about the actual plot, but it seems like all you really need to know about the game to enjoy it is that it's all about beating the crap out of stuff hand to hand combat style. You could almost think of it as a beat-em-up take on Virtua-On.

The real focus is on multiplayer and there will be several unique modes designed for both PvP and PvE in online modes such as “Battle Royal.” Fights take place in arenas and while there is no real leveling system you are able to augment your character with new abilities as you progress through the game and earn temporary boosts through combo chains.

Anarchy Reigns is set to launch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in January 2012..
