Double XP weekend now on for Call of Duty: Black Ops
2/4/2011 11:32:00 PM
The weekend is in full swing, and the Super Bowl is less than 48 hours away... but Activision and Treyarch don't want the weekend to be all football. Their solution to competing with the big game is enacting a Double XP weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer action. The event will be running through 8am on Monday, February 7th, and is in effect for all online multiplayer action for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii platforms.
The Double XP weekend also celebrates the release of the First Strike DLC map pack, which is currently available only for Xbox 360 owners and has been selling extremely well both online and via retail. As with the Modern Warfare 2 DLC map packs that set the new standard, First Strike will cost you 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) to purchase. Activision has been mum on the release schedule of First Strike for other platforms.
So, before the big Steelers and Packers matchup on Sunday night, don't forget to log some time on Black Ops and chase down that Prestige!
We wanted to let you know that Treyarch is hosting their first Double XP multiplayer weekend starting at 10:00am Pacific, Friday, February 4th through 8:00am Pacific, Monday, February 7th. Anyone playing in multiplayer matches on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii or PC versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops will earn double XP rewards and level up.
Additionally, players that haven't picked up the new downloadable content pack Call of Duty: Black Ops "First Strike," can grab that for 1,200 Microsoft points, as the DLC is currently available on Xbox LIVE. The pack features five new maps, including Berlin Wall, Discovery, Kowloon and Stadium, as well as one new Zombie level, Ascension.
Rated "M" (Mature - Blood, Drug Reference, Intense Violence and Language) by the ESRB, Call of Duty: Black Ops is available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Wii™ and Windows PC.
