December 15, 2010 – Disney Interactive Studios revealed today that the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed video game, Disney Epic Mickey, will be released by Walt Disney Records and available for download starting December 21st. Featuring the music of Emmy Award winning composer, Jim Dooley, the digital score includes 20 tracks available through iTunes and other major digital media retailers.

“Jim Dooley perfectly understood the concept of classic Disney sound and was able to compose a slightly off-center feel to match the unique world of Wasteland in Disney Epic Mickey,” said Warren Spector, general manager and creative director, Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point. “The intuition and skill that makes Jim Dooley one of the industry’s top musical talents is represented in Disney Epic Mickey. The range of emotions in his score is simply stunning and one that fans will enjoy both within the game and on its own.”

Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure platforming video game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of discovery and redemption. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s long forgotten characters and attractions, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero.

Through the use of this unique paint and paint thinner, the key components of animation and Mickey’s tools for impacting his world, players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds as they discover the concept of “Playstyle Matters” – an innovative style of gameplay created by Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point, led by industry luminary Warren Spector, where players creatively tackle different challenges in the world to explore all the possibilities and storylines – but with consequences for their chosen actions.

Disney Epic Mickey from Disney Interactive Studios is Rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) and is available now at an MSRP of $49.99 for the Wii™ console. There is also a collector’s edition of the game which includes a five inch collectible Disney Epic Mickey figurine, a DVD with behind-the-scenes footage, a stylized Wii Remote™ faceplate, and a pair of Wii console skins available now at an MSRP of $69.99.
