Crazed Penguin goes on rampage?!

Posted by: Sean Colleli at 9/2/2009 12:09 PM
No, the cute flightless birds from March of the Penguins aren't taking their revenge, Penguin United is just releasing a new gun peripheral for Wii, so you can come back out of your fallout shelters. Dubbed the Crossfire Pistol, this one is unique in that it isn't a shell for the Wii remote like the craptacular Zapper from Nintendo, or the highly respectable Perfect Shot from Nyko. Instead it functions as a Wii remote, just in gun-shape, so you can use it for pistol-heavy games like Conduit or, if you're feeling like Charlton Heston, you could play Wii Sports with it.

The gun has every button the Wii remote has, repositioned for pistol-grip comfort. I'm interested to see if you can attach a Nunchuk--if so it could hypothetically work with any Wii game.

EXTRA! EXTRA! CRAZED PENGUIN GOES ON RAMPAGE

 WITH CROSSFIRE PISTOL

Launch of First Integrated Remote Gun for Nintendo™ Wii™ Unleashes Mayhem

Fremont, Calif., (September, 2009) – Penguin United has announced the launch of the CrossFire Remote Pistol for Nintendo™ Wii™, the first and only available gun for Wii that has the remote already integrated into the gun’s design.

Intead of designing just another plastic shell for housing the Wii remote, Penguin has actually designed the Crossfire with the remote already built in.  Accordingly, the A and B buttons and D-Pad have been repositioned for easy access and functionality. The Crossfire even works as a regular Wii remote for use with other, non-shooting games.
