Company of Heroes 2 pre-order bonuses and collector's edition unveiled

Sequel to one of the most explosive and innovative games to storm the strategy genre, Company of Heroes 2 from Relic Entertainment and THQ aims to be even more impressive by offering a variety of new content and even more spectacular visuals. Those interested in learning more about the sequel can read my impressions of the game from this year's E3. Just announced today are a wealth of pre-order bonus offers from various retailers, in addition to the unveiling of a digital collector's edition with a host of extra goodies. I've listed the pre-order bonus offers below, which hopefully assist in browsing through the many deals being offered at retailers.

• Global bonus/every pre-order - German Rotbraun and Soviet Leningrad vehicle skins
• Selected retailers - Closed beta access
• Steam bonuses - Access to the Steam pre-purchase tiered reward program and Team Fortress 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Retribution unlocks
• Origin bonuses - Soviet Bryansk vehicle skin
• ShopTHQ bonuses - Command Pass (available separately after game launches) that includes additional multiplayer maps and access to member only events

Along with the various pre-order bonus offers, series fans will want to set their sights on the digital collector's edition that contains an assortment of goodies. For the retail price of $99.99, the collector's edition will include access to three of the first single-player content packs, Command Pass membership, exclusive German Whitewash and Soviet Winter tank skins, veteran's badge for display on in-game player profiles, and copy of the original Company of Heroes along with both expansion packs.

Company of Heroes 2 is scheduled for release in early 2013.

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. - Sept. 20, 2012 - THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI) today announced a number of pre-order incentives as well as a Digital Collector's Edition for its upcoming strategy game Company of Heroes® 2, sequel to the highest rated strategy game of all-time.

All customers* who pre-order the game from participating retailers will receive a global pre-order bonus consisting of two vehicle skins for their medium weight vehicles, the German Rotbraun and Soviet Leningrad, with selected retailers also offering guaranteed beta access during the Closed Beta phase.

As well as these incentives customers who pre-order the game from Steam will be enrolled into the exclusive Steam Pre-Purchase Tiered Reward Program which will feature a number of rewards including unlocks for Team Fortress 2 and Warhammer® 40,000®: Dawn of War II® Retribution.

Players who choose to pre-order from Origin instead will receive all of the global pre-order incentives, as well as an exclusive Soviet Bryansk Front vehicle skin to convert their heavy vehicles.

Finally ShopTHQ pre-order customers will receive the same global pre-order incentives as the other retailers as well as the Command Pass, which will entitle players to download new bonus multiplayer maps as well as take part in exclusive members only events. The Command Pass will also be available for purchase separately post-release.

As well as Standard Edition of the game, a Digital Collector's Edition is available for $99.99. Included in this edition is access to the first three single player "Content Packs" when they become available as well as the Command Pass, exclusive heavy German Whitewash and Soviet Winter Cobblestone tank skins and a Veteran badge to display on the player's in-game profile. Additionally, players will receive the award-winning original Company of Heroes base game with both its expansion packs.
