In the Borderlands universe, the CL4P-TP steward bot is a bit like Star Wars' ubiquitous R2 series astromech droids, with R2-D2 being the most well know. So in a way, Claptrap is the R2-D2 of Borderlands if R2-D2 was psychotic, self-absorbed, and delusional. But let's face it, that's exactly why we love Claptrap, and that's why he's got his own webseries instead or Mr. Torgue or Moxxi's cleavage.
