More On: Civilization V

Sid Meier's marketing team has been working overtime. Not only is the charity-driven Humble Bundle the Humble Sid Meier Bundle this week, but Civilization V: Complete Edition is a go for digital download and retail.

The Complete Edition comes with the base game along with the Gods & KingsBrave New World, and Conquest of the New World Deluxe Scenario expansion packs, as well as all pre-released add-on content:

  • Civilization Pack: Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar II)
  • Cradle of Civilization – Americas Map
  • Cradle of Civilization – Asia Map
  • Cradle of Civilization – Mediterranean Map
  • Cradle of Civilization – Mesopotamia Map
  • Double Civilization and Scenario Pack: Spain and Inca
  • Explorer’s Map Pack
  • Civilization and Scenario Pack: Polynesia
  • Civilization and Scenario Pack: Denmark – The Vikings
  • Civilization and Scenario Pack: Korea
  • Wonders of the Ancient World Scenario Pack
  • Scrambled Continents Map Pack
  • Scrambled Nations Map Pack

Mildly confusing but important: If you already bought the Brave New World expansion, you'll get the Conquest of the New World Deluxe Scenario for free on Steam. Going forward, Conquest of the New World Deluxe Scenario will be included as a free bonus with Brave New World.

If you're tired of inscrutable strategy games buried under their own complexities and lack of suitable tutorials (cough, Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis), then it's high time to discover why Sid Meier's Civilization is one of the most beloved, accessible, and fun strategy series of all time.
