Cities XL "Point, Shoot -- Win 2!" contest launched

It's likely that your city hall doesn't garner much of your time and attention throughout the day -- unless you're like one of my coworkers who, when Congress was sketching out the banking bailout plan, thought it was Take Your Daughter To A Protest Day and ended up standing alone in the rain with cardboard signs outside of our city hall.  Oh, and her kid got a cold that day.  What's the lesson here?  It's that Cities XL has started up their "Point, Shoot -- Win 2!" contest, and this time their accepting photos of your favorite city hall.

From November 17 - 30, members of the Cities XL community are able to post images of their city hall in the hopes that it'll be voted as the winner.  Developer Monte Cristo then goes to work, taking the winning entry and giving it to their artists to put into the final game.

PARIS, France. November 19, 2008 - Monte Cristo is launching an exciting second contest for their upcoming next-generation city-building title, CITIES XL™. In the new "Point, Shoot – Win 2!" contest, you need only submit a photo of a current City Hall to the forums at www.citiesxl.com to enter.

From November 17th to November 30th, members of the CITIES XL™ community are able to post images of their favorite City Hall. Starting December 1st, all the pictures that meet the rules and requirements will be put into a gallery where every member of the CITIES XL™ community will be able to vote for their favorites. The winning entries will be included in the final version of CITIES XL™ when the game goes on sale in 2009.

Only images of City Halls may be submitted, and no trademarked buildings, monuments or other current intellectual properties may be entered into the contest. CITIES XL™ allows gamers to develop cities on realistic 3D maps using an incredible collection of unique structures and monuments based on American, Asian and European-influenced architectural styles.
