It looks like Midway really did tone down the violence to get the DC license as these fatalities aren't quite up to the level as previous Mortal Kombat games.  That said I do like what they've done with some of the ones in this video for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe as they are on the clever side.  I'm not sure what Heroic Brutalities are but they are a bit different.
