Battlefield Bad Company goes gold

More On: Battlefield: Bad Company
EA announced today that Battlefield: Bad Company has gone gold and should hit stores on June 24th here in the US and on June 27th in Europe.  The game is a bit of a twist on the old Battlefield formula as DICE has added a new mode as well as a major overhaul to the graphics engine.  Ben and I have both enjoyed our time with the beta and demo of the game (which is available now on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network) and the new engine's deformable terrain really makes you re-thinking your approach to the genre.
An enduring symbol of wealth and the frequent goal of treasure hunters, gold has been captivating mankind for centuries. Recently, this fascination hit a fever pitch when gold prices soared to a record $1,000 per ounce (breaking the record of $875 set in 1980). All of the sudden, everyone from brokers on Wall Street to people trading in their old jewelry began experiencing modern day gold fever. This is the 21st century gold rush.

In one of this summer’s most anticipated videogames, Battlefield: Bad Company drops gamers behind enemy lines with a squad of renegade soldiers, the ‘B’ or Bad Company, who risk it all on a personal quest for gold. The game has gone gold and will hit the market on June 24 in North America and June 27 in Europe. Players can jump online to download the demo today on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace and PLAYSTATION® Store to get a taste of gold before the game hits retail shelves.
