It looks like Apple has updated to firmware version 2.2.1 for both the
iPhone and
iPod Touch. Unfortunately, there were not any new items added, just a handful of fixes predominately aimed at Safari stability, images received through mail and skipping of ALAC files (Touch only). Here is the list directly from Apple:
iPhone/iPhone 3G Update:

iPod Touch update:
