ACTIVISION AND THE
MILITARY CHANNEL INK DEAL THAT PROVIDES
CALL OF DUTY® GAMES WITH AUTHENTIC WAR CONTENT
Santa Monica, CA – Sept. 23,
2005 – In a move that
will add even greater authenticity to the best-selling Call of
Duty brand, Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today that it has
signed a deal with the Military Channel to produce a series of historical
vignettes that will be featured in the company’s upcoming World War II-themed
games Call of Duty® 2 and
Call of Duty® 2: Big Red One. As a part of the agreement, the Military
Channel will also air a half-hour special on The Big Red One,
“We are pleased to partner
with the Military Channel for our Call of Duty brand,†said Dusty Welch,
Activision’s Vice President of Global Brand Management. “They are providing us with compelling World
War II video content that will take players back in time and draw them even
further into the epic and cinematic Call of Duty
experience.â€

Call of Duty
2 is scheduled for
release this fall for Windows® PC and the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment
system from Microsoft; Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is also
slated for release this fall for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment
system, the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCubeâ„¢. Both games are currently rated “T†for “Teenâ€
by the ESRB.
