Activision hooks up with the Military channel

Looks like Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 2: Big Red One are getting a little extra content courtesy of the Military Channel as Activision has signed a deal with them to produce vignettes for the upcoming games.  The channel will also be airing a 30 minute (22 minutes if you have a DVR) special on the Big Red One unit and the making of the game which will air on November 1st at 9:00 EST.

CALL OF DUTY® GAMES WITH AUTHENTIC WAR CONTENT

 

Santa Monica, CA – Sept. 23, 2005 – In a move that will add even greater authenticity to the best-selling Call of Duty brand, Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today that it has signed a deal with the Military Channel to produce a series of historical vignettes that will be featured in the company’s upcoming World War II-themed games Call of Duty® 2 and Call of Duty® 2: Big Red One.  As a part of the agreement, the Military Channel will also air a half-hour special on The Big Red One, America’s most decorated fighting unit, and the making of the highly anticipated first-person-action game, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One.  ”The Big Red One: Behind the Game” will premiere November 1 at 9:00 pm/EST on the Military Channel.

Call of Duty 2 is scheduled for release this fall for Windows® PC and the Xbox 360â„¢ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft; Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is also slated for release this fall for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCubeâ„¢.  Both games are currently rated “T” for “Teen” by the ESRB.
