More On: EVE Online
EVE Online has turned 8 years old.  CCP's Executive Producer, Nathan "Oveur" Richardsson, pronounced:

"Eight years of EVE Online, where grown men cry, great women fly and entire empires rise and die.  EVE is real.  Forever."

To celebrate, players were given a 6-pack of "Quafe Zero" (Do I even what to know?) to thank them making EVE Online what it is today.  More details can be found here.  Videos of the EVE Fanfest 2011 player celebration can be found on YouTube.

I can't believe I've been secretly lusting over EVE Online ([sadface]I'll never get to play it[/sadface]) than most console cycles.  8 years is some serious legs in an industry the thrives on novelty.

Greetings from CCP!

Amidst a flurry of celebration at our offices in Reykjavik, Shanghai, Atlanta and Newcastle, CCP's Executive Producer, Nathan "Oveur" Richardsson, pronounced:

"Eight years of EVE Online, where grown men cry, great women fly and entire empires rise and die. EVE is real. Forever."

In game, we celebrated by giving a 6-pack of "Quafe Zero" to each player as thanks for the the life they breathe into the EVE universe and the massive amounts of destruction they sow. More information about it can be found in this recent dev blog.

It has been an amazing ride, with so much more to come. EVE Fanfest 2011's massive celebration of our players, held last March and posted in this YouTube playlist in almost its entirety, can attest to that.

So please hop in your ship and bring your wingmen. Nothing is better than flying with youru friends, as we can honestly vouch for after these 8 strong years.

Fly Safe!
