Next Gen had an
article up last week about an book entitled "Game On! From Pong to Oblivion: The Top 50 Greatest Video Games of all Time" where the authors discuss the process they went through in selecting the titles for their list. It's a good read and sheds a litltle insight into how they came up with their top 50 games which you can find
here. A quick glance at the list shows that they've got a good range of titles from older stuff to more modern games but one title really stuck in my craw.
Madden 07 is on the list. That's right the next gen version of the venerable franchise is on the list and I'm not sure why. While
Madden 07 is certainly a good game I'm not sure I'd put it at the top of the list for the Madden franchise let alone the list of the best football games ever (2K Sports NFL 2K5 still hold up for me). To each their own I guess.
