3DS XL is Back in Black

More On: 3DS XL
Why, why, why does this always happen? I finally took the plunge on a blue 3DS XL a mere two weeks ago, and now Nintendo announces they're bringing the sleek, sexy black one to America. And I so wanted my XL to match my DS Lite. I swear they're playing a prank on me. In any case it's nice to get some more color varieties for the up-and-coming portable. All frustration aside I'm very happy with my 3DS XL and Nintendo should do whatever they can to shift attention to the bigger, superior revision and away from the wonky original model 3DS. Hopefully this will also ease the pain of clambering after the incredibly rare Fire Emblem and Pikachu 3DS XL's.

REDMOND, Wash., July 30, 2013 - The Nintendo 3DS XL system is about to get a little more formal. On Aug. 11, Nintendo is releasing a black version of the Nintendo 3DS XL hand-held system, joining the currently available range of colors: blue, red and pink.

The system is launching on the same day as Nintendo 3DS game Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, so fans that pick up a new black system or already own a Nintendo 3DS can also play the exciting new entry in the much-loved Mario & Luigi role-playing series. Aug. 11 will be a classy day to become a new Nintendo 3DS owner. Just make sure there is room in your tuxedo pocket or fancy purse!
