I read his article, and it looks as though he's done the math. Which is unfortunate. I've always thought math is highly overrated.
It sounds like the writer equates "accurate" scoring with "what everybody else is scoring" for a game. If 1up has sports writers that rank games higher than GameSpot, I fail to see how that equates to an "inaccuracy."
But grades matter, we know, we know. And I don't play sports titles, so I can't affirm or deny 1up's grading of those games.
A more interesting angle -- as far as I'm concerned -- is if 1up uses more concise language than GameSpot (which they do), or if 1up writes reviews that don't sound like a table of contents from a game manual (which GameSpot does ... or at least they did years ago, when I'd stopped reading their reviews, because they sounded like a table of contents from a game manual).
Okay, now I'm just being mean. Sorry. But still. Numbers. Feh.
