It looks like a slow week for Cyril as Nintendo is only releasing one virtual console title and two WiiWare titles this week. The lone VC title is 1993`s Samurai Showdown(900 points) with Cocoto Fishing Master (700 points) and Block Breaker Deluxe (800 points) rounding out the "original" side of things.

SAMURAI SHODOWN!!!! YAY!!!! Oh wait, this is the first Samurai Shodown? Oh. Hmm. It's a fantastic game, but why get this when Samurai Shodown II is clearly on the way?

Giving Nintendo's track record, once they give us a franchise, they tend to give us the sequels. Samurai Shodown is a fun game, but it's no Samurai Shodown II. The sequel really improved on every aspect of the original, giving us better control, better characters and better moves. It seems like it's only a matter of time before SS2 comes out, so I'm cautious about buying this inferior (but still fun) game. Samurai Shodown 3, 4 and 5, on the other hand, suck. Ooops, I see the confusion. I said "why get this when Samurai Shodown is on the way" when I meant to say "why get this when Samurai Shodown II is on the way." I guess that would make more sense. D'oh!
