Here`s the first video of Guitar Hero World Tour sans game footage. What you get is a bunch of folks showing off the instruments along with the new drums. They also tout some new features such as battling with other bands and recording your own singles to share with others. Sounds interesting but I`m holding out for some footage. I just don`t like having ANOTHER set of drums in the living room.

Otherwise, I think Rock Band (and its future incarnations) will continue to kick the snot out of GH and the Konami offering because it has a larger installed base. Of course price matters, so if the Drums are around $49 or less, people would probably bite....

Has the game been named Guitar Hero World Tour? From the various news reports I've read most people are still calling it Guitar Hero IV or just Guitar Hero (like the preview does). When you said "World Tour" I thought you were talking about that upcoming Nintendo DS game, but that's "On Tour". Surely Activision wouldn't put out two games that are so similarly titled.

It would seem to be. I'm assuming Activision gave the trailer to Game Trailers to premier and told them what the name of the game was going to be and it's filed under Guitar Hero World Tour.

I have seen reports that Activision has registered the name Drum Hero, but that doesnt fit in with an ensemble (multiple instruments) game...

I just thank god they changed the name for the next iteration. It still irks me that a guitar hero game has other instruments in it but then I guess it was choice between naming it guitar hero and having the brand recognition or coming up with something more obscure. Anyone care for a game of Super Jam Hero? Anyway did anyone else taste the irony of having live people performing for a crowd when essentially the goal is for everyone alive to own the game effectively eliminating the audience because everyone participates. I guess there is still the attack of the clones in the game that jump and wave their arms.
