Microsoft announced today that Assault Heroes 2 will be this weeks Xbox Live Arcade game du jour. The game is a sequel to the award winning original and continues the storyline by revealing that the original boss was just a low-level stooge. The new objectivity is to seek and destroy the higher boss. Additional new features are a dodge-roll system, ability to hi-jack more powerful enemies and more firepower. Assault Heroes 2 will be available for 800 Microsoft points at 4:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday May 14th.

I had a chance to play it at the Sierra Spring event and finished the entire game on PN over the weekend and it's a blast (especially the co-op multiplayer). There are a few slow points but the boss missions are pretty sweet, especially on the harder difficulty levels.

I really have no idea what I'm going to do for a Retro Round-Up this week. It's going to be even worse if GameTap doesn't come up with anything. Maybe it's time for me to look at recent compilations or something. Not sure, I need to figure it out.

You should just replace it with a rant about how they have slowly bled off the amount of weekly titles available on VC, XBLA and PSN....LOL Or better yet, do a GN retro and resurrect Randy's old Trailer Park article as your "Retro" article and cover the new Gears trailer among others that came out recently... Or This Week in DLC? Look at all the crapola that hit DLC for the consoles including Demos, trailers, movies and Game stuff.... heh

Oh man, that would be such a good idea ... but I can't even do that. :( A week ago my five year old flat-panel computer monitor died on me. The most frustrating thing of it all is that it didn't fully die, it's still clinging to life. So I can still type and read news pieces, but all pictures, videos and graphics come out looking real, real bad. Heck, I can't even tell what's going on in most cases. It completely warped my colors, it's very strange indeed. The biggest problem I have is anything that is black (or dark). So I can't even read my own website because of the black background. It's really frustrating. So even if I wanted to, I couldn't do that ... at the moment. Thankfully my new widescreen monitor is on the way. Not sure when it'll get here, it was supposed to come today. Grrrr. I'll probably end up either taking the week off or ranting.
