After reading some of the stories, it sounds like it'd be pretty durn dull fighting creatures like ... hyenas. And ... apes. And, looking at that first pic, apparently elephants are part of the monstrous compendium.

But it still looks sweet, for some reason. Maybe because most MMOs jump right past using too many real-world creatures, hitting the high-fantasy button from the get-go.

So, the fact that Age of Conan will be pitting you against some more recognizable creatures, will give it some interesting grounds in reality. Before dropping us off into heroic magical-fantasy land.

(Still trying to convince the wifey to let me get upgrade from my current gaming rig.)
