Codemasters announced today that they have secured the license to create Forumula One games that was previously held by Sony. Sony was reported to have balked at the high price of the license and decided to pass on it leaving it open for Codemasters to pick up.
It`s a smart move Codemasters as they will be releasing cross platform F1 titles in upcoming years, something that Sony was obviously unable to do. It`s a bit of a shame as Dave really liked F1 Championship but it`s not like Codemasters doesn`t have a great reputation with racing games.

Yes, it's good that a company that was just sitting on it has released it, but it doesn't much matter anymore for the PC: rFactor and free mods have everything covered there. It'll be nice for the consoles, though, particularly if they continue the trend I saw in GT5:P to get more realistic. Controllers are important there, though, but I think they are improving for the consoles too.
