Sure to add fuel to the console-PC fire, BioWare announced today that the first piece of DLC for Mass Effect on the PC will indeed be free* when the game releases on May 28th. The Bring Down the Sky DLC will introduce the Batarian race and add an additional 90 minutes of gameplay and a new soundtrack. The catch (*) is that it will be free to registered members of the BioWare community. The same download used to cost 400 MS points on the Xbox 360 (not sure if it still does or not.)
