Straight from NeoGaf come the numbers for March and they are impressive as the game industry sold over $1 Billion dollars worth of software last month.
The Wii was once again the number one hardware platform but the real surprise is that the PSP outsold the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The Xbox 360 managed to move past the PS3 this month but just by 5,000 units. Here`s the full list

Wii 721,000
Nintendo DS 698,000
PlayStation Portable 297,000
Xbox 360 262,000
PlayStation 3 257,000
PlayStation 2 216,000
From the software side, Super Smash Brothers Brawl was the number one game for the month with the Xbox 360 version of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and Army of Two rounding out the top three.
