If you don`t know who Sid Meier is, Google his name now. He`s made some games that I`ve lost way to much time to. A legend in the industry, he gave his Top 5 games of all time to MSNBC. HIs list is interesting but not really that surprising except for one. What`s your top 5 of all time?

I think at least three of the comments on his Top 5 were "...gotta play just one more level" of whatever game. It's that bite-size addiction that factors in heavily for him. Which makes sense, since he's obviously created games that *he* would like to play.

But, um, I kinda had to ascertain that for myself, since the "article" isn't very deep-delving.

So here are my Top 5 Sid Meier games, with little explanation:

1) Spore -- The greatest game I haven't yet played!
2) Pirates! (1987)
3) Alpha Centauri
4) Civilization III
5) Railroad Tycoon II

(...By no means definitive, these are just ones I've had a lot of fun with. Or *will* have fun with!)

EDIT: And now I'm wildly embarrassed for mentioning Spore, since that's a Will Wright game. Not a Sid Meier one. Got my pantheon of Game Developer Gods mixed up.

It does seem like a useless article. If you're going to spend time with Sid Meier, why not try to get more quotes / information?

I don't know if I could list games in any certain order, but making my top five would have to be:

No One Lives Forever 1/2 (PC)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Zelda II: The Adventures of Link (NES)
Starcraft (PC)
Fallout 2 (PC)

Like most people, it would be hard to narrow it down but these are certainly among the best I've ever enjoyed playing (over and over again).

Er. Yikes. That was a silly mix-up on my part. But I bet Sid Meier will like Will Wright's Spore!
