It looks like we`re getting a pair of new virtual console titles for the Wii this week as Operation Wolf (500 points) and Columns III: Revenge of Columbus (800 points) are now available. I haven`t played Columns III (or any of the games in the series) but I spent a lot of allowance money with Operation Wolf as a kid. Check back on Friday for Cyril`s take on the games and feel free to leave your thoughts on either game in the comments.

I will never understand why Nintendo (or whoever decides these things) opted for the watered down 8-bit NES version of Operation Wolf over the TurboGrafx-16 version, which was as close to the arcade game as you could get. Either way, the game is absolutely pointless without a gun. Using the D-Pad to play these on-rail shooters is terrible and completely misses the point.

Also, did they upload Columns II? Seems odd that they went from the original to the third installment with no explanation. It's another lame week in retroville.
