There`s only one release for the Nintendo VC this week and it`s 1080 Snowboarding (1000 points). We haven`t seen anything on Nintendo has been cutting back on the VC releases lately but it`s a bit odd to see things slow down from three releases a week for most of last year to two releases and now down to one. I guess it`s going to be an easy week for Cyril this week.

I can only hope that the reason we've been seeing one or two Virtual Console releases a week is because they are saving up something good. But as the weeks go on I'm starting to doubt that. I'll admit, this kind of sucks. After a year of getting us used to three Virtual Console releases a week, Nintendo has decided to limit it to only two titles a week ... and in the case of today, ONE TITLE. And the games haven't even been that good. I hate to say it, but the Virtual Console is starting to remind me of the Xbox Live Arcade. Hopefully GameTap will bring the retro goodness, because I don't want to only talk about one game this Friday.

Check out this week's ESRB article on Wednesday, Nintendo is waaaaaay down on rated titles, and has been declining throughout January.

I think a lot of the VC titles have already been rated so they aren't showing up in the weekly articles. I went back a few weeks and I couldn't find any of the recent VC games so I'm not sure that's an indicator of what's in the VC pipeline. I don't think they've run out of games to put up but I wonder if they are having QA problems.

I rarely see PSN games come across lately either, but we could do a search by platform to view all 16,000+ titles if need be...

Rez was released in 2002 on a last generation game console (both the PS2 and Dreamcast). The Dreamcast lover in me says to throw caution to the wind and actually talk about Rez, but it's a close call. I may just do it because I have nothing else to talk about.
