Price Drops: You say there were no price drops, yet I remember Sony dropping the price at E3. I suppose you could argue that they did it right before, however, the announcement was intended for E3. The only reason we knew about it was because of retailer adverts, just like the Xbox 360 this year.
Alan Wake: You're right, it wasn't playable and they didn't show a new trailer ... but it actually was at the Microsoft press conference. So, while it sucks it wasn't around much, it was in fact at the show in some some form.
Nintendo Discovers the Internet: Hmm, I'm not sure Mario Kart Wii counts. Especially since Pokemon Battle Revolution did exactly the same thing (online play via friend codes in the game) a month before E3. As far as I can tell Nintendo didn't change their tune, they just kept on doing exactly what they said they were going to do from day 1.
