bit-tech offers up a look at the MSI GUS

More On: GUS
A lot of folks are using laptops these days and I know some of you want to game but just can't get the graphical horsepower needed out of your rig to run at a decent frame rate. Well, MSI's trying to offer up a viable solution with their Graphics Upgrade Solution or GUS.

bit-tech has a preview of the product and it uses the Express card slot of the laptop to deliver the graphics. The GUS shell can be purchased sans video card as well as a few variants of Radeon HD cards in there. Because of the limited bandwidth and limited power output, the Radeon HD 5670 as the top end for this configuration.

I might be interested in just the GUS without the video card since i have a few laying around and up my graphics capabilities of my laptop a little bit for some gaming when I'm not working. Although, I'm wondering if there's a way to put in a NVIDIA card and utilize CUDA off of the GUS. Anyways, if you're interested in the GUS without the video card, it'll be around $100 while you're looking at $170-$230 depending on the included video card.
