Torque 3D Released
Cross-platform technology brings hundreds of titles to market

Eugene, OR, USA September 29, 2009 -- Revolutionary cross-platform game technology Torque 3D is now out of beta and in its fully released state.  Thousands of developers worldwide participated in the rigorous 6-month beta period, resulting in the most stable release of the award-winning engine to date. Torque 3D boasts best of breed rendering, live asset updating, lighting-fast iteration, a fully integrated toolset for scene construction and the ability to publish games to the web.

"Running an open beta for Torque 3D was a huge success," said Brett Seyler, Vice President of Business Development.  "We gathered mountains of useful feedback, allowing our customers to be part of the development process.  It helped us achieve more intuitive tools, a better content pipeline, and ultimately an engine that delivers all the visual fidelity of the industry's best-looking games."

Torque 3D's new deferred renderer is based on Wolfgang Engel's Light Pre-Pass model.  It provides per-pixel dynamic lighting, normal and parallax occlusion mapping, screen space ambient occlusion, and HDR.  Built to cater to artists, Torque 3D's COLLADA import pipeline loads content from any major modeling application in seconds.  Models, materials and animations are perfectly preserved without a fuss.  And for programmers, full source code access means the engine can be torn apart, put back together, and extended in unlimited ways. With hundreds of resources and add-ons available, from pureLIGHT for world class light mapping support to FMOD's award-winning audio system, Torque 3D is as flexible as it is powerful.
