Steam update of Bad Company 2 fixes some things and removes one big thing

I don't know how I didn't see it but the Steam version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was using SecuROM as its DRM. For shame as that's one of the worst ones to use. Thankfully, the folks at EA have changed their mind as the latest patch for the game removes the much hated DRM scheme.

You would think companies would stay clear of SecuROM with all the bad experiences that people have with the thing. That's one of the reasons I haven't even installed Spore on my computer. While I am disappointed that EA decided to go with SecuROM initially, I'm very happy they decided to remove it. You would think though with the Spore fiasco that they would learn by now but let's hope they decide not to use SecuROM on any releases in the future.
