Were you a gamer back in 1990?  How about in 1998?  If so, you might remember a little game called Red Baron.  In the series, you are the titular pilot on his crusade or alternatively an enemy in the Royal Flying Corps trying to take him down.  People don't seem to enjoy flying games like they did in the past and might have forgotten about the series.

Mad Otter and GOG.com want to change that with the release of the Red Baron Pack.  The Pack includes Red Baron, Red Baron: Mission Builder, and Red Baron 3D (a heavily patched version of Red Baron 2).  The pack currently is available for DRM-free download at the price point of $9.99.

Three-game pack featuring the legendary flying ace is set for release on the vintage-game digital distribution site.

Warsaw, Poland – October 8, 2009. GOG.com (http://www.gog.com), the digital plunderer of classic-games-filled treasure chests, has unearthed another bounty of historic gems with the addition of the legendary Red Baron air-combat series. Thanks to the agreement with Mad Otter Games, GOG.com will offer the complete Red Baron series in one value-packed bundle including Red Baron, Red Baron Mission Builder and Red Baron 3D – as always, DRM-free and XP & Vista compatible – for the low-flying price of $9.99.

The Red Baron series, created by Dynamix, is considered by many to be the greatest World War I flight simulator. The games allow players to fly authentic World War I aircraft in individual missions or campaign mode, as they accompany the famous flying ace in his squadron or hunt him as a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps. The first part of the trilogy is a member of Computer Gaming World's Hall of Fame after placing 4th in the magazine’s Best Games of All Time list.

“It's great to see Red Baron, Red Baron Mission Builder, and Red Baron 3D released together. These are great games with lots of gameplay. I hope a new generation of gamers enjoys them as much as we enjoyed making them,” shared Damon Slye, director and designer on the original Red Baron project.

“The Red Baron series is still revered as one of the greatest flight simulators ever, and it was our duty to bring the renowned series into the spotlight again,” said Adam Oldakowski, Managing Director of GOG.com. “The first installment was released almost 20 years ago, and it holds up very well, still offering players loads of fun-filled gameplay. I'm sure fans of classic games will be excited about this release.”

The Red Baron Pack is already available for download at GOG.com for $9.99, DRM-free and compatible with Windows XP and Vista.
