New Splatterhouse screens surface along with a release window

More On: Splatterhouse
Namco has released five new screenshots of Splatterhouse, the first since they took the game in house a few months back.  The big news is that Namco has penciled the horror game to ship to stores in Q3 of 2010.

The screens do look good but I wonder how the game will look in motion.  One of the key selling points of the game was that the dynamic damage system that shows you exactly how much damage you've taken as you play the game and then auto-regenerates when you find time to rest.  X-Men Origins:Wolverine did this to a minor degree but Splatterhouse was going to go down the muscle and bone levels for that added bit of realism.  Hopefully we'll get a new trailer soon.

NEW Splatterhouse ASSETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD

NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today released a new batch of assets for its upcoming Splatterhouse game for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Inspired by the landmark 1988 arcade hit, Splatterhouse combines visceral, adrenaline-soaked combat with horror elements to deliver an original gaming experience that defies the boundaries of the traditional action category with over-the-top gore and shocking new gameplay mechanics.

Now developed internally by Namco Bandai Games America Inc., gamers will be confronted by horror and gore on an unimaginable level as you take on the role of Rick, a college student possessed by a bizarre terror mask. Bent on saving his girlfriend Jennifer from horrific otherworldly creatures, Rick must obliterate a path through massive legions or nightmarish creatures.

Embodying the unfiltered, primal aggression of its namesake, Splatterhouse gives players countless ways to decimate your enemies with extreme gore. Splatterhouse pulls no punches, taking gore and shock value to the next level with physics driven fluids and organs flying in all directions. Splatterhouse will be available in Q3 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
