Net Points: King of the Court mode revealed for Top Spin 4

More On: Top Spin 4
The second entry in Top Spin 4's Developer Diary has been published-- this time directly to Facebook-- and reveals a new multiplayer mode called King of the Court

King of the Court is a fast-paced version of tennis that does away with sets and the standard scoring system. Instead, matches will last for either three, five, or seven points, based on player preference. At the end of the match, the winning player stays to face a new challenger while the loser takes the long walk of shame off of the court. This setup will allow for some quick matches and will also likely eliminate some potentially lengthy waits for Top Spin 4 players looking to get in on the online tennis action as King of the Court will house several players to play at a time until a certain ending condition is met. The length of each King of the Court battle isn't the only option that will be customizable. Players, courts, and even AI competitors can all be selected before the match starts.

If King of the Court plays out the way that Game Designer Jean Karl Tupin-Bron describes in the Developer's Diary, it could make for a very accessible and quick form of tennis for players who want or only have time for a quick session instead of exploring the various other gameplay modes and features that Top Spin 4 will have to offer.

Top Spin 4 will be available on March 15th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii platforms, and we'll be bringing you our view of the action soon.
